Rhythm as a key component of music and social interactions

Music has always been seen as a powerful tool to overcome barriers. Regardless of whether during concerts or any social events, it can help us to make contact, cooperate and care for each other. This suggests that if we want to have a more harmonious society, we should start thinking of incorporating music into our lives. Engaging in musical activities with people can increase understanding and tolerance.

There is something about music that seems to bring us closer to each other and help us come together as a community. It has been proved in several studies that listening to the music or singing together have a direct impact on neuro-chemicals in the brain, responsible for interacting with others.

What is it?

Well, a clear answer is impossible to give, as music consists of many complex elements. However, some researchers believe that it is the rhythm that helps us to synch up our brains and coordinate our body movements with others, and that’s how the effects can be translated to a whole group. It allows people to coordinate their actions.
