Activate Public Space

A main question I'm currently asking myself in this case study is: What is attractive public space?

I believe attractive public space = activated public space.

By activated public space I mean a space people want to stay in and move through playfully instead of directly.

So the question I'm asking myself can become: How can we activate public space? What kind of things or tools can we try out ourselves and design for this?

I found this interesting TED Talk about activating public spaces. In this video Mara Holt Skov shows what an activated public space is.
